Your little one’s skin is precious, and if it’s sensitive it'll need extra care. Try these preventative measures to help protect and manage sensitive skin...
1. Moisturise
Dry skin is more susceptible to reactions, so apply a mild, natural moisturiser regularly, (straight after a lukewarm bath or shower is ideal). When hand-washing steer clear of harsh soaps and hand sanitisers, use cool water, pat dry and follow with moisturiser.
2. Go Fragrance Free
Avoid scented lotions, soaps, or detergents as even the smallest amount of added fragrance can trigger a reaction on sensitive skin.
3. Stop The Scratch
As hard as it may be for little fingers to resist scratching, it will make matters worse and could even lead to infection. Keep nails short and encourage a hands-off habit.
4. Keep Them Cool
Easier said than done in our climate at this time of year, but skin that's hot, sweaty and sensitive isn't a good combo. Beat the heat by avoiding hot baths & showers, dress in soft, breathable fabrics (you can't go wrong with 100% cotton), and try to limit physical activity in the heat.
5. Be Allergen Aware
Keep in mind that certain household culprits like dust, pollen, pet dander and toxic chemicals in cleaning and personal products could be contributing to allergic reactions. The more factors you can rule out the better.
Our Fragrance Free range is extra gentle on sensitive skin and like all of our products made from plant-based, non-toxic ingredients, so you can rest assured it’s safe for the whole family.
